Firewall blocking the application from running.
If you have a firewall application installed on your computer, you need to add Viper to the firewall’s exception list.
There are 3 files that need to be added
-Sloader.exe (Only until Version 4.8.6.x, not available or needed from versions 5.0.x.x and newer)
-Sstorage.exe
-Sosuploadagent.exe
Once you have added them, retry the backup.
Corrupt DLL files.
In situations where you tried the above steps, and it still did not resolve, you can try to register the DLL from the command prompt.
Open the command prompt (Start > Run > type ‘cmd’)
For Windows Vista/7, go to Start, type ‘cmd’ in the search box, you will see the command prompt icon, right click on it and select “Run as Administrator”.
In the command prompt type ”%WINDIR%\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\msxml4.dll” for 64 bit versions of Windows.
”%WINDIR%\System32\regsvr32.exe %WINDIR%\System32\msxml4.dll” for 32 bit versions of Windows.
Outdated system files.
Since Viper relies on web services for backups, we need to make sure certain system files are updated.
Viper needs MSXML 4 SP3 to be installed and working.
Please use the link below to download and install the file.
After completing the installation, try to run your backups.
Incorrect user name/password in case you have selected “Remember my login to this computer”.
In some cases, where you have selected “Remember my login to this computer” in Viper, you would need to log out of Viper from the Advanced menu, and then type in your password again, log back in and then try to run a backup.
